Emotional Freedom Technique

What is Tapping?

Emotional Freedom Technique is based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. The basic Tapping technique requires you to focus on the negative emotion at hand. This can be a fear, a worry, a bad memory, or any unresolved problem. You do this while managing your mental focus on this issue. Then you use your fingertips to tap 5 to 7 times on nine specific meridian points of the body.

Tapping on the meridian end points, while addressing the root cause of distress, sends upcoming signal to the brain. This allows you to feel relaxed and in control and helps you overcome underlying issues causing you distress, pain, and unease in your daily life.

Tapping regulates the nervous system and boosts the immune system. It also puts the body back into the parasympathetic (relaxation) nervous system response. This allows the immune system, digestive system, reproductive system, and endocrine system to function as it should.

Research supporting EFT

  • A landmark study published in 2012 in the prestigious Journal of Nervous and Mental Disorders found that EFT Tapping lowers the stress hormone cortisol by 43%, significantly more than traditional talk therapy (19%) or resting (2%).

  • EFT tapping treatment reduces PTSD symptoms by 52% in Veterans (*Dawson Church, Peta Stapleton).

  • A world-first study at Bond University proved EFT Tapping reduces food cravings and MRI scans showed changes in the brain.

  • Tapping positively influences gene expression in 72 genes (study by Akamai University)

  • The acclaimed Energy Psychology Journal shows that 76% of patients suffering from anxiety treated with EFT experienced complete remission and brain scans confirmed changes. (This was a double blind 14-year study involving 29,000 patients).
